Freezing feet ruin a $200 ski day. Tiny hollow air pockets in alpaca fiber trap heat 3× better than wool to keep your toes toasty from first chair to final run.
Wool soaks up to 30% of its weight in moisture, turning your socks into cold, wet sponges. Alpaca absorbs just 10%. Even when snow melts down your boots, your feet stay warm and dry.
Thick wool socks choke tight ski boots. Baby alpaca feels thick but wears thin, cushioning every turn like a soft pillow with zero bulk inside your boots.
You know when you feel your sock sliding down into your boot heel? Hollow stays locked from your first turn to your last. No unbuckling your boots mid-run to yank your socks up.
The same air pockets that keep your feet warm… vent moisture when they get too hot. Your feet stay warm at -20° and cool in spring slush.

Yes. Hollow reinforces every high-stress zone - heel, toe, arch - with military-grade nylon. The knit is tight enough to stay put without bunching or sliding.
Alpaca fiber is naturally stronger than wool and softer than cashmere. The nylon reinforcement handles the structural load in high-stress zones. Soft where it touches your skin. Tough where your boot demands it. Not a contradiction - just alpaca.
Alpaca naturally resists odor-causing bacteria at the fiber level. No spray-on coating. No chemical treatment that washes out after ten wears. Just a fiber that stays fresh. Wear them through your longest hunt, shift, or range day and find out.
No. Alpaca fiber is hollow on the inside - air pockets pull heat away when you're hot and trap warmth when you're cold. Your boot traps heat. This sock fights it. Works the same whether you're on a job site, in a blind, or at the range.
Really. Try them through a hunt, a shift, or a range day. If they're not right for the job - for any reason - contact support@hollowsocks.com for a full refund. No interrogation. No hoops. We're that confident.
Most brands default to cheap materials. We demanded better. Alpaca is naturally thermoregulating, naturally odor-resistant, and softer than cashmere - without the bulk or chemical treatments of synthetic alternatives. We source it from the Peruvian Andes and knit it in America. No shortcuts either way.
These are great socks. I fly fish 12 months of the year. Winter months can be a challenge to keep feet warm but the socks have done the trick.

I would say-as a former ski instructor-warmth is a must! Especially when teaching young ones. If they are cold, they are miserable, and teaching is a lesson is futile.

By far the best socks I’ve ever tried, and I’m a sock fanatic. I will be switching over entirely to alpaca. Need some thin models too though. Boot height thinner socks, but still soft.
